Here We Go Again: 2010 NHL Predictions
After another long summer of player movement and excitement about all the young talent the NHL is being infused with this year, it’s finally time to drop the puck on another season of the “Greatest Show on Ice”. Last year at this time, I wrote about how I thought the combatants in the Stanley Cup Finals would be the Rangers and Red Wings, so obviously I don’t own a crystal ball or have Miss Cleo’s home number, but I’m ready to shake off that colossal failure and give it another go. Here is my best guess on how things will shake out this season:
| Eastern Conference | Western Conference |
| 1) Washington Capitals | 1) San Jose Sharks |
| 2) Pittsburgh Penguins | 2) Detroit Red Wings |
| 3) Buffalo Sabres | 3) Vancouver Canucks |
| 4) Carolina Hurricanes | 4) Los Angeles Kings |
| 5) New Jersey Devils | 5) Chicago Blackhawks |
| 6) Philadelphia Flyers | 6) Colorado Avalanche |
| 7) Boston Bruins | 7) Phoenix Coyotes |
| 8) New York Rangers | 8) Anaheim Ducks |
| 9) Montreal Canadiens | 9) Calgary Flames |
| 10) Tampa Bay Lightning | 10) Nashville Predators |
| 11) Ottawa Senators | 11) St. Louis Blues |
| 12) Atlanta Thrashers | 12) Edmonton Oilers |
| 13) Toronto Maple Leafs | 13) Dallas Stars |
| 14) New York Islanders | 14) Columbus Blue Jackets |
| 15) Florida Panthers | 15) Minnesota Wild |
Eastern Conference Finals: Hurricanes over Penguins
Western Conference Finals: Red Wings over Avalanche
Stanley Cup Finals: Red Wings over Hurricanes
Conn Smythe Trophy: Pavel Datsyuk
Hart Trophy (MVP): Eric Staal, Hurricanes
Art Ross (Top Scorer): Alex Ovechkin, Capitals
Rocket Richard (Most Goals): Marian Gaborik, Rangers
Norris (Top Defenseman): Drew Doughty, Kings
Vezina (Top Goalie): Jimmy Howard, Red Wings
Calder (Top Rookie): Jeff Skinner, Hurricanes
Adams (Top Coach): Lindy Ruff, Sabres
I want to know what you think…Leave a comment and tell us your picks.
