Rangers forward Vinny Prospal tore his lateral meniscus during Saturday night’s loss to the Islanders. The 34 year old center/winger will undergo arthroscopic surgery and will be out of action for at least 2 weeks. For the official release from the Rangers, click here.

The Rangers recalled Matt Gilroy from Hartford this morning. He is expected to be in the lineup tomorrow night vs. Carolina.
Following today’s victory in Philadelphia, The Rangers announced that defensemen Bobby Sanguinetti and Ilkka Heikkinen have been returned to Hartford in the AHL.
